History

1884

Purchase of the Eykensmill by Honoré De Vos. This mill was built in 1846. In 1890 the mill was already expanded with a steam machine

 

1919

After the war, the son, Raymond De Vos, joins the company. The activities were grinding of grains, commerce in fertilizer, flax and more

1929

The mill is demolished

1949

Adhémar Braet marries to Marie-Josephe De Vos, daughter of Raymond. Adhémar is the youngest in a farming family and had already founded a commerce in fertilizer, cereal, seeds and more. By this marriage, Braet - De Vos was established. The activities were expanded to peas and later also grains. From a very early start there was export to the Netherlands and later also to Germany

1974

Jan Braet, the son of Adhémar, joins the company. The activities are becoming more and more global, especially France

1980

Acquisition of grain firm Luteijn BV from Sint-Kruis, the Netherlands

1991

Acquisition of Buyze BV from Sint-Kruis, the Netherlands

2004

Wouter Braet, son of Jan Braet, joins the company. This is already the 5th generation

Acquisition of Alimex Europe BV from Halsteren, the Netherlands

Building of a modern storage warehouse with loading dock
